If the current system software version is 1.10 or later, the update is not required. Note: The current version number and updated version number will appear on the lower left-hand side of the screen. If this happens, remove the battery pack from the camera, reboot the computer and follow the instructions from '2. Sometimes, when the camera is connected to the computer with the USB cable, a message prompting you to restart the computer may be displayed.

If the computer has multiple USB terminals, try with the other terminals.

When you connect the camera to the computer with the supplied USB cable, 'USB Mode' appears on the LCD screen of the camera.

If a mode other than Mass Storage is selected, please select Mass Storage.

Following the instructions in the System Software Updater window, on the camera, select Menu → Setup → USB Connection and check if Mass Storage has been selected.

Note: If the System Software Updater does not start up, double-click in the - folder to start up.

The System Software Updater will start.

Note: Never turn off the camera or disconnect the USB cable while updating. If the message is displayed, close using the button. Note: If the USB cable was connected before the dialog box prompting USB connection appeared, disconnect the USB cable and start again from 'Step 1. 'USB Mode' appears on the LCD monitor of the camera.
